Welcome to the Festival!

That’s it – you’re booked! No need to print anything out.. You just turn up. .But please read this page carefully and bookmark it – it will be updated from time to time.

Next could you please fill out this form?

Note: if you’re planning to sleep in one of the yurts you need to let us know via the form as the spaces are limited!

And please get your own travel insurance before you come.

A Telegram group will be set up a week or two before the event where we can begin to build our community.

And we’ll also have a ridesharing spreadsheet.

The festival begins  with dinner at 7pm on Saturday the 16th August and you must come on this day. You can come at any time on the 16th and hang out.

The festival ends after breakfast on the 23rd August. Please make a move by noon so we can start to clean up the place 🙂

See you there!

  • What to bring
  • a tent (if you plan to camp)
  • a sleeping bag/blanket (the yurts have mattresses and pillows but that’s all.
  • comfortable clothes that you can stretch and dance in
  • a towel
  • a sarong/lungi to wrap around yourself and put on a mattress
  • a flashlight
  • some warm clothes/ rain jacket just in case
  • maybe some fancy clothes for fun – feel free to express yourself at the festival 🙂
  • an umbrella (great for when we’re eating lunch in the full sun)
  • a toothbrush
  • a couple of empty water bottles
  • some hand sanitiser
  • a plate, spoon and cup (otherwise you won’t eat anything!)
  • Insect repellent (even if you don’t normally use it. There can be quite some ticks in the forest)
  • tick tweezers
  • paper and pen
  • a good sense of humour
  • musical instruments
  • clothes, make up or costume to dress up for the closing ceremony
  • maybe some massage oil
  • safe sex supplies (just in case)

What not to bring

  • alcohol (this will be an alcohol-free event – please respect this!)
  • drugs (same as above!) – even ‘natural’ ones, ‘medicines’ or anything else that gets you high. Caffeine is the only one we accept.
  • dogs – sorry, it just makes for a much calmer festival this way
  • people who haven’t booked a place (space is limited so everyone must book on the website)
  • candles – yes, they’re beautiful but they start fires so they’re strictly forbidden!
  • belief systems – we don’t mind if you’re a Christian/Buddhist/Communist etc but the festival is really not the place to talk about it. We want to keep the festival as a neutral space where everyone can feel welcome. That goes for conspiracy theories, too,
  • addiction to the internet and your phone. We ask you not to use your mobile phone within the festival area so we can focus and be with each other. You can go for a short walk in the forest if you need to call someone. Otherwise it’s a phone-free event with no cameras either.
  • amplified music and speakers. It’s an acoustic festival 🙂
  • children. Only people over the age of 18 may come.

How the festival works

There will be a big board with all the workshops on it for the day, letting you know which activities will be going and in which place. If you want to run a workshop or run an activity you just write it on the board!

The exact program will be worked out the day before the festival begins when we have all the teachers together in person.

The timetable will look something like this:

8 am – yoga

9-9.45 – breakfast

9.30-10.15  – support pods

10.30 – 12.30 – first workshop

1 pm – lunch time, listen for the shout of “Food Circle!”

3 pm – second workshop

5 pm – third workshop

7.pm – dinner

evening – music, storytelling, games, talks, who knows?

Running a workshop

If you would like to propose a workshop there will be space on the Thursday and Friday. You should bring the materials you need and plan for it to last around an hour and a half. There will be several possible locations where you can make it – you can decide when you arrive!

FAQ

Can I bring my dog?

Nope, no dogs. Sorry.

Where can I park my car?

Follow the driving instructions at the bottom of the page.

Can I come with children?

No. It’s just not that kind of festival.

What will the weather be like?

We don’t know 🙂

We anticipate it will be warm but it’s always better to be safe than sorry.

What kind of food will be served?

We will be making  delicious vegan lunches and dinners, and there will be a chai space where tea will be made at all hours (though at 3 am you might be the one making it!).

It’s no problem if you’re gluten-free.

Can I go naked?

Yes. But no sex in public places 🙂

What clothes should I bring?

The weather should be good in August but it’s always better safe than sorry.

And bring something fancy to wear for the closing party celebration!

How to Get There

The festival is held at Jurt Camp which is a beautiful 40 minute walk from the village of Čimelice  which is about an hour south of Prague by bus.

Jurtcamp, Vrábsko, okres Písek

GPS : 49.4652289N, 14.1070081E

There is a huge parking area just by the festival with plenty of space for camper vans.

To get there with public transport we recommend downloading the IDOS app from Google Play or Apple which can be used in English and gives you all the available transport connections. While there are buses leaving almost every hour, we recommend to book your bus tickets in advance on IDOS as they might sell out. The journey takes about an hour.

And once in CIMELICE here is a (imperfect) photo guide of how to walk to the festival. If you post you arrival times in the Telegram group it might be a car can come to at least pick up your luggage so you can enjoy the walk 🙂

And there is now also an informal taxi service from Misha +420731705744 – she will charge 250 Czech crowns or 10 euros for the journey and please let her know in advance!

You go behind the church.

Take this road past the yellow house.

Turn right here.

Turn right here.

Follow this road.

You will cross a bridge.

The path winds through fields and lakes.

And around houses.

The path rejoins the road and you continue straight.

You go through the village.

And you will see yurt camp on the left. Welcome home 🙂
